Pinch me, I’m dreaming. I still can’t quite believe that yesterday we welcomed creative genius and award-winning Instagrammer, Dominique of All That Is She, to our little corner of Yorkshire for our second Yorksinstameet of the year.
Yesterday, we were back at the stunning Priory Barn and Cottages and we had over 100 attendees arriving, all excited to hear from the incredible Dom, one half of the creative duo behind All That Is She. It was lovely to see familiar faces who’d been with us in January and a delight to welcome a whole host of new attendees to Yorksinstameet.
The Priory Barn was buzzing with enthusiastic and inspiring conversation. It was such a pleasure to meet some ‘Insta’ friends for the first time in real life over a coffee and to see and hear new and positive connections being forged.
At 11am our guest speaker, Dominique of All That Is She, took to the mic and, for over an hour, told us her story full of fascinating insights and invaluable lessons learnt – humorous at times, mesmerising in others.
With a following of over 520,000, Dom, together with her husband, creates jaw-dropping, magical and whimsical images which are incredibly fun and beautifully creative shots of Dom with her daughters, house rabbits and her lovely home. One of the UK’s most successful Instagrammers with a worldwide following, Dom won Lifestyle Influencer of the Year at the Northern Blog Awards in 2018, and has been heavily featured in numerous podcasts and publications including Vanity Fair, ABC news, bored panda and HuffPost.
In her talk, Dom covered everything from choosing a brand name and the decision to give up the day-job to the intricacies of successfully using and navigating the Instagram platform and its nuances. Frantic note-taking gave way to sitting back and just absorbing the moment and soaking up her words.
After we’d said goodbye, packing up to go home and then off to pick up the children from school, the impact of our morning together stayed with me. Today I feel energised and focused, the seeds of new ideas germinating. I hope everyone who joined us is feeling equally inspired today.
We worked with some wonderful people and businesses on this meet. Typical Type, a great local company, provided us with the amazing illuminated letters that looked fabulous in the marquee.
The incredible bakes were the tremendous work of the lovely Kristina of Cakes by Kristina. I mean, that Cookie Cake looked almost too good to eat – almost…! I had my eye on taking a second slice home but no such luck…
And finally, if you were wondering which talented photographer captured this Yorksinstameet so beautifully, it was the amazing Suzie of Suzie York Photography. A fellow photographer and a personal friend, she has her own unique style and is a true supporter of Yorksinstameet and what we are trying to achieve for the creative industry here in Yorkshire.
Thank you all so much for coming, for supporting us and each other. We wouldn’t be who we are without you!
